what i have found is that you have to turn on the gas valve and wait for a few seconds until the meter has registered the reading and you hear a click sound from the gas regulator before trying to light up your barbq....... meter works great.

The unit I was missing an O ring allowing gas to leak. After a quick trip to the hardware store the unit began to work. This is not a high tech piece of equipment so dont bet the house on its readings.

I bought this Safety and indicator Gauge for a gift. It is great. Had checked out other reviews and bought according to that. It works great and really seems to gauge the gas accurately. Good purchase would recommend.

Mine too was shipped to me brand new and after only about 3 uses, it stopped letting gas through. I called the manufacturer and they said they will send me a replacement once I send them the defective one. So I'm out the cost of mailing their defective product back to them...not to mention the hassle of packing it up and taking it to the post office. Hardly worth it. If it's defective - they should pay for return shipping.
