5 out of 5 stars Graet product   February 10, 2010
R. Fernandez (Houston TX)
I decided to spend the extra money for a weber, I was very impressed by the quality and customer service. The product came with the spark button missing and I called Weber and they offered to send a newone. In the meantime I ignited it with a lighter; the cooking is even and fast, assambly was quick and easy. Best of all the even cooking I have gotten so far.My suggestion is get one of this in stead of the cheper ones , it will pay over the long run.

5 out of 5 stars A great Grill   January 28, 2010

I bought this Weber grill to replace my old Ducane which developed a gas leak. That grill was supposed to be the last grill I would ever have to buy. HA! They don't support their lifetime parts guarantee because they went out of business even though Weber now owns them. It only lasted about 12 years and never got as hot as my new Weber.
I just love the new grill. It warms up in about 5 minutes and it's ready to go. Like the other reviews say, it does get hot, stay hot and cook evenly. This is with the outdoor temperatures in the 30's. Now my foods have "sear" marks and are not over-cooked. My steaks and burgers are juicy. So far I am very satisfied.
Buying it through Amazon was a delightful experience. It was delivered as promised without a hitch. There was one minor problem with the supplied parts. The electric start cap button was missing. With a quick call to Weber, the cap was shipped out right away. Not a big problem because I could light the grill manually.
I am pleased with the grill and Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars very nice grill   October 23, 2009

Here you have excellent value for money. I was planning to go for the more costly Genesis E-310, but upon examining both grills very closely, there is so little difference in them that I could not justify the Genesis. I don't mind spending for quality, but both grills are high quality--you get a very modest boost in scale with the Genesis and a fancier lid. With this said, the Spirit E-310 is already a fairly large grill with tremendous heating capacity.

The grill is easy to put together--I guess it took me about an hour, just taking my time and being careful. I was impressed with the quality of the parts and the clearances--it's tight. Now I know few things are made as well as they should be, and this grill really should not cost $499.00--but shop around and see if you can do better. Good luck. My model has heavy cast iron grates: they are fantastic and sear like a champ. The ignition system is excellent, and the grill heats to 600 degrees in less than ten minutes and really holds its heat while cooking. Grates and flavorizer bars can be replaced with stainless steel when they wear out. Although the grill is marketed as an "entry level" appliance, I would say that it far exceeds the expectations one might have based on that term. You're entering at a pretty high level if you buy this grill. This grill is heavy, looks good, cooks great, and cleans up easily. I consider the Spirit E-310 a pro-grade appliance well worth the cost with 95% of the features offered in the Genesis. I think the three burner model is worth the extra money--it gives you a lot more capacity and flexibility. I also bought the Weber premium cover, and it is a high-quality item I'd also recommend.

I would be reluctant, however, to have the grill sent to me through the mail, and I certainly wouldn't let them assemble it at Home Depot. Shop carefully and do the research and you may well find that this is a gas grill you will really appreciate for the power and quality it does have and also for the gizmos and tackiness it doesn't have.

5 out of 5 stars After 20 yrs of cheap grills, this is so great.   September 21, 2009

I could have gotten many more buzzers, bells and whistles for the same money or even less, but I have put up with cheap grills for too long. Between replacing parts every year, fighting fires every time I grilled and dealing with uneven heat, I finally had enough and splurged on a good grill.
I could tell while I was assembling it that it was 10 times sturdier than my old Char-broil. The first time I cooked Chicken on it, I did it exactly the way the cooking guide that came with it said. Six minutes each side on medium direct heat. I never even checked on it, I just put them on flipped them after 6 min. Then 6 min later checked the temp, and they were perfect. My old grill they would have been charcoal on one side and raw on the other.
I did get the porcelain coated cast iron grates. I would definitely recommend that upgrade. They came with the grill at Home Depot for the same price as the cheap ones that came from Wal-Mart. Be sure to make sure you are getting the good grates before purchasing.
Like I said this is a basic grill, no side burner, or infra red heat. But I hardly ever used the side burner on my last grill; I think I can sacrifice extras for a good basic grill. I love it.
I got the cover through Amazon for $10-$20 less than anywhere else. It is a Weber brand cover and it too is 10 times tougher than any cover I have had before

5 out of 5 stars Great grill...not hard to assemble   September 17, 2009

I purchased this grill after a lot of research and the mistake of not buying a weber grill several years ago.

Only used a few times so far but I am perfectly satisfied.

Wanted to disagree with a few of the posters on the assembly. I am a tool guy and consider myself a bit better than an amatuer mechanic, but this grill was a snap to put together.

There is one step (lifting the grill chamber into position) that is a two person must. Other than that, it took me about one hour (with a 4 yr old "helper") to assemble this grill, and there were no issues. I did not use the enclosed "tools" that came with the grill as I used my own socket set, but I see no reason why they would not have worked, just a tad slower on tightening bolts.

I did not find the pictures directions hard to follow, in fact I found them a bit easier than some of the descriptive text instructions I have followed in the past.

Buy this grill (especially with free ship from amazon) and you will not be dissappointed
