Amazon.com Review A perfect reproduction of a 1950s design, this retro charcoal grill would please Elvis, as well as grill and smoke meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables in the down-home manner he appreciated. It's heavy and sturdy, and rolls around a deck, patio, or lawn on semipneumatic rubber wheels. Made of cast aluminum for maximum heat radiation, the grill cooks foods uniformly, whether they're grilled quickly or slow-cooked and smoked under the hinged lid. Four adjustable vents and dampers provide precise temperature control. Aluminum side and bottom trays offer lots of room for holding food, utensils, and condiments. The grill assembles easily with screws and nuts (included) and measures 35 inches long, 16 1/2 inches wide, and 35 inches high. Because the cooking section detaches from the lightweight aluminum carriage, the entire unit can be quickly disassembled for a camping trip. --Fred Brack
Product Description Yup, this is the real thing, maybe like the one your parents had, as opposed to one of the cheap sheet metal imitations that dominated the market up until recently. These cookers do not rust and they reflect heat from all surfaces, allowing the food to cook more evenly without constant turning or repositioning on the grill. Adjustable vents in the lid and dampers under the fire allow easy temperature control for direct grilling or slow cooking without flare-ups from dripping fat. Once the lid is lowered the food is bathed in smoke for an unforgettable charcoal-fed hickory smoked flavor.

Flexible, convenient, and built to last June 18, 2010 Cap'n Pete (Boston) It's pretty simple - I love my PK, and if you like to grill, you'll probably feel the same.
The build quality of this grill is outstanding, and it's super-quick to assemble. The design makes it extremely easy to cook directly over the coals or indirectly. This is a big edge over the standard kettle-style grills, where you have to do a lot of messing around to cook over indirect heat.
It's also extremely efficient in its use of charcoal; my sense is that it uses less than half as much as my old kettle.
When you open and close the lid, it feels smooth and substantial. The vents move easily and make adjusting the heat very straightforward.
It's rare these days to find a product that doesn't feel like it was made as cheaply as possible. The PK feels pleasingly overbuilt, and is a joy to work with.
The Best Grill There Is. May 11, 2010 Charles Schenck (Rogers AR USA) My dad bought one of these when I was a child. I think it was the largest model that they make, he still has it. I got married and a lady that I mowed for had a smaller model of my dad's grill. I mowed her yards four times for it. I have had it for about 13 years now. I have replaced the grill and grate and they fit well. I can't recommend this grill enough, it is timeless in it's design. While the other grills have rusted and been thrown away this one will still be cooking. If you appreciate cooking with charcoal or wood, want a grill that lasts a lifetime, I highly recommend this Pk Grill.

I purchased this cast aluminum grill 32 years ago, a bit smaller than my new one but the best grill I have ever had. The new portable kitchen a bit larger but high end quality. I love it.
Best grill for direct heat. May 29, 2009 drumdude (Charlotte NC) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is the best grill I have ever used for cooking steaks over direct heat. I also have a Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker (indirect heat) I use for ribs and BBQ. My PK is 6 years old and still going strong.
PK grill will outlast me October 18, 2008 Gene A. Gaston (Birmingham, Al USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
PK charcoal grill
We purchased our grill as a young married couple in the fifties and I still use it frequently. I actually have a pork shoulder on the grill as we speak, for football company. The plastic wheels are gone but everyone raves over the flavor and tenderness of the meat. I am now in my seventies and the body of the grill is as good as ever.
