4 out of 5 stars Great little apartment grill!   July 26, 2010
Katrina A. Kaszpurenko (Durango, CO 81301)
I researched grills for awhile and had the debate, do I really want to spend $200 on a weber that will be reliable for a long time, or spend $50 on some generic little guy that might die on me? Finally, after much agony I went ahead and purchased the weber 220q and have been relatively happy since! :-) This has a large grilling space, enough for family or friends who come and visit, nonetheless just grilling for me. My q heats up really quickly and the grill heat is surprisingly evenly disbursed!

My one complaint: after the first usage the ignitor stopped working. Reading that this was a similar complaint of other owners, I did something surprising--read the manual! It turns out the ignitor is battery operated. Change the battery, and you're good to go! None of the reviews I read mentioned that so I thought I'd share.

Overall, great grill and I know this guy will work hard for many, many years to come! Little bit of a steep price, but worth it and the Weber quality!

5 out of 5 stars Great little grill!   July 25, 2010

Very easy to use and clean. Haven't had any of the issues noted in other reviews with lighting it. Fits plenty of food for several people...I grilled 4 chicken breasts, zucchini slices, and potato wedges at the same time. Would definitely recommend this grill for anyone looking for something that doesn't take up too much space.

4 out of 5 stars "Portable" means portable   July 24, 2010
J. Janssen (San Diego, CA USA)
This is a really nice little grill that works great for its original intended use, but doesn't stand up to "mainstream" duty. I had two of these over a 5 year period and, like just about everybody else, tried to use them as my regular BBQ. Where I live (SD County) that means 3-5 times a week, 52 weeks a year. They were really not designed for that, but rather as a stylish "tailgate" portable using torch canisters ( a rather expensive, but convenient fuel source). All the regulator problems mentioned here stem from either overuse and/or running the grill off a 20# tank via the converter hose. You really can't blame Weber here as they were just responding to customer demand to for a more economical source of propane for their little portable and I would venture a guess that the same thing would happen to any number of "tailgate" grills if used with the same frequency as most use these "Q's".

5 stars for use as a portable/tailgater but just not ready for prime time. A much better Weber choice for everyday home use is the two burner Spirit E210. Complete, these sell for not much more than the larger Q300 and really are designed for serious use. You'll give up the portability (with cart the larger Q's really aren't that portable anyway), but gain a reliable family sized gas grill that Weber has been making in one form or another for over 30 years. And if you can give up the stylishness of the Q grab a Model 1520 "Go Anywhere" torch canister for about $50, a very competent grill, for tailgating. If not, get the smallest Q100 and just recognize that it's not going to cut it as a full time BBQ. Better, yet, junk the gas entirely and get a Weber Gold kettle, add a Craycort cast iron replacement grill, and you'll never go back no matter how convenient propane is.

5 out of 5 stars The Perfect Grill   July 16, 2010
Amy Castle (Columbus, OH)
I can't say enough about this grill! It arrived (packaged very well) promptly and was very easy to put together. It heats up very quickly, which I love because you're not wasting propane - and seems to stay at a very consistent temperature. I also bought the rolling cart which makes it so easy to roll to wherever I want it. Buy this grill - you'll love it too!

4 out of 5 stars weber BBQ 220   July 15, 2010

bought the electric last year and was very unhappy
The gas unit is great just what I needed for my deck of my condo
the extra cord lets you use with a propane tank as well

would recommend
