A great little grill May 31, 2009 J. jen (Denver, CO) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Although the price may appear to be high compared to other grills of the same type on the market, this one is worth the extra!! I shopped around quite a bit because I don't WANT to have some giant, triple- burner- magnum- quad- dual-whatever MACHINE that is so complicated you can't even turn it ON. This baby is a very reliable, easy to use grill. I especially like the fact that it lights WITHOUT FAIL in even extremely windy conditions (I live in San Francisco--it is usually pretty breezy). Another bonus; I have personal experience with having a gas grill build up gas and then POOF in my face when I try to ignite--you know what I mean. You turn it on, you hope the gas is coming out, you try the ignition and....nothing. So, you try again and...blammo! I hate that, it scares the crap out of me, and personally I LIKE my eyebrows still attached to my face. This grill has never done that to me. You turn it on, you press the switch and ... it lights, sweet!
For the most part it is well made--the grill surface is nice and thick and heavy-weight metal---not chintzy, and the surface heats evenly. The lid is also nice and solid so it doesn't blow around and slam shut at inconvenient times. My ONLY complaint is the handles. They are not attached very well and are prone to breaking where they screw in. This is the bigger model and so I have never intended to lug this around to parks, and so on, but I suspect if one were to do so with any frequency they would lose those handles fairly soon. I had to send one back when broken in shipment, and when I looked at it it was easy to see why it broke. I think they could prevent this with better screws maybe? Anyhow I love this grill!
Best apartment grill ever made! May 30, 2009 Joe Thompson 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Very well built and doesn't use too much gas. Has a very heavy cast iron grate for even heat distribution. You wont be making beer can chicken on it due to the low profile lid but that is only difference between the WeberQ the best full size grills.
LOVE IT! May 28, 2009 L. Jensen (Maryland) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We have gone camping with this grill twice and we love it! It is easy to clean and cooks great.
Great little grill May 23, 2009 Elkmeister (Montana, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this after returning a slightly more expensive competitors model (think green, mantled lanterns) that was piece of junk. We didn't want one of the monster units that are so common anymore. This unit is extremely well put together, well engineered and well thought out. That pretty "well" says it all. Food tastes great but I find that is the case on a $40 portable or $2,000 "I have more money than brains" model. I like the heavy grates. Not as easy to clean but you get the real cook out taste. We use it as a portable as much as a fixed unit and the size is fine for that.
Not much more to add that has not already been said. Great little grill.
I waited 3 years to write this review May 13, 2009 L. E. Segelin (Orlando Florida) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
OK, I should have written this earlier, but I have figured I have used this Q-200 over 750 times!!
I cook dinner most nights on my grill, a meat, and also vegetables, some on the grill, some in foil. I think the secret to this grill is the cast grate, no other grill cooks so evenly, I hared those with cheap wire grates. I think the most amazing thing is after so many uses, it NEVER failed. I should clean it more often too, other than the drip tray, it gets a good cleaning only ever 100 or so uses. Just a brass brushing before each use. I'm amazed after 3 years of my hard use (more Abuse with my cleaning schedule!) this inexpensive grill still works as good as new. It does look pretty used, a few flare-ups have scorched the right side of the lid, but every part is 100% working.
To anyone that says Webber is not number one in quality, I invite you over next year to see if this little guy will be cooking it's 1000th dinner!!!!!
Oh, and I don't work fow Weber or Amazon, I'm a retail manager who apreciates a quality product in an age of throw away products.
